The last two chapters in the LOMEK series take you to some very strange places indeed…On the E-side are VD Inc & Tubish who have no problems in switching between Pop, breakcore, zip-hop, oldschool synth fests and atmospheric fuzz. Cohesive and yet disjointed.

The K-side sees Tom Verbruggen (*Toktek*) go apeshit on yr ass with his manic style that has had audiences gasping for air for sometime now. Twinned with resident DJ Jorg impulsive and balanced ear for tunes this is the perfect end to the series.

Review: FRET Vd. Inc & Tubish / Toktek & Jorg – Lomek 04. Ja, ja je maakt het de recensent er niet makkelijker op als collectief met al die namen en stijlen door elkaar. Maar bij deze jongens dondert dat niet; al vanaf het begin met de No One CD deelt dit Nijmeegse collectief rake klap na rake klap uit, waarvan ik amper ben bekomen voor de volgende komt: Smokecella’s Wuppertal ligt hier nog wekelijks op de draaitafel. Ook hier is het weer raak: prachtige electronica , verknipte electropop en ruige drum & bass worden op zo’n geweldige manier gemixt dat je denkt dat het eigenlijk niet kan, en toch gebeurt het. En daarvoor moet je van heel goeie huizen komen. Met deze release is de serie van vier compleet en het volgende project wordt al aangekondigd: een DVD. Als er ooit een fanclub voopr deze heren kom , meld ik me hierbij alvast als lid. (Ruud Lekx)
